The honest questions.

Which tier should I pick?
Free if you're a homeowner testing the product. Plus if you're an active DIY homeowner renovating your own home and 3 renders/mo isn't enough. Designer if you're a solo designer pitching once or twice a week — 30 renders easily covers that. Designer Pro if you pitch most weekdays, want 4K output for client decks, or need more than ~30 renders a month. 100 renders covers ~33 full pitches (3 directions each) — busy studios usually settle here.
Why is annual only 20% off and not more?
Because the real-cost equation isn't "how much can we squeeze out of you upfront" — it's "can we afford the render infrastructure at this price point." 20% is the max we can offer and still keep the free tier actually free. Google Gemini render calls aren't free to us; each render at 2k costs us ~$0.04 in API fees.
What happens to the annual discount if I cancel mid-year?
Pro-rata refund on unused months, minus a 5% processing fee (Stripe's cost, not ours). Email hello@handeefriend.com, we process within one business day.
How do add-on render packs work exactly?
Buy a 10-pack ($19) or 50-pack ($79) any time from inside the app. Credits never expire and stack on top of your monthly quota. If you have 5 renders left in your monthly quota and buy a 10-pack, you now have 15 renders. Next month: your monthly quota resets, but add-on credits carry forward. Add-ons are one-time purchases — not a subscription.
When should I NOT buy add-on packs — just upgrade instead?
If you're on Designer and regularly buying 50-packs (so ~80+ renders/mo), you're spending $79+ a month in add-ons on top of $99 — upgrade to Designer Pro at $199 for 100 renders/mo plus 4K output, priority queue, and the extended style library. The breakeven is roughly 50 renders/mo if you weight the other Pro features at zero; sooner if you value them.
Who gets the affiliate commission when my client clicks a product link?
Homeowner plans: HandeeFriend takes the commission. It's how we can afford the free tier. Designer + Designer Pro: you do. On Designer plans we ask for your own Amazon Associate ID during onboarding. Every product link in every PDF you send to a client carries your tag, not ours. Your clients buy, you earn.
Can I switch tiers mid-cycle?
Yes, instantly. Upgrades pro-rate the remainder of your current cycle; downgrades take effect at your next billing date. Stripe handles the math. No calls, no "let me transfer you" games.
Is this an appraisal or valuation tool?
No — HandeeFriend is a decision-support system. We render visual directions and source shoppable products. We don't produce labor quotes, appraisals, or valuations. For any project that involves a contractor, the owner takes the rendered PDF to a licensed professional for the firm quote.
